Ugh, Frickard. Citizen of the Year for being creepy and dreadful? I expected better of HFB3, and to be honest, of Gunderson and Grisham too. What's the political upside in honouring a guy whose claims to fame are frog legs and Being a gross rapist? I can impressive Granny is moneyed and contributes generously to re-election campaigns. Still don't see what HFB3 gets out of it though.
So anyone else think they're setting up Maggie for a change of allegiance? Seriously though SHUT THE FUCK UP BERT! Why does Bert think it's still a car wreck? Is the rest of the town still going with the car wreck story even though Emily knows it was a UFO? Or is Bert just shit? He seems shit.
For a second when I heard glass break, Sammy say Ben please and then the intro music, I thought Ben was doing a live crash through the window dramatic entrance with his own backing music to ruin the Creepiest citizen of the Year award ever.
I love that Troy mispronounced Patreon. You know he wouldn't know how to say it. Also enjoying the reference to Ben's medium rage.
Love that Loretta reads bodice rippers and Troy returns them to the library for her. Relationship goals?
Why is everyone so shocked and concerned that Ben dissent talk to Emily anymore? Under the absolute best, no alien abduction involved, gregfree scenario of "like someone, ask them out, they say no", I'm gonna keep my distance from that person. Not being mean or rude or aggro, just not gonna be anyplace they are if I can help it. I mean, is he supposed to hang around being a total sexpest? Or pretend he's okay with being friends? Or never move on because he's shredding his selfworth to pieces by being around her?
Like, Troy and Mary and even Sammy are acting like he's making a huge mistake but to me this is advanced level adulting.
I do love how much Troy hates Greg. He has well eclipsed the Williams Boys in terms of invoking Troys wrath. But a big brother In this situation isnt going to be kicking Bens ass, hes gonna be keying frickards car and putting sugar in his gas tank.
GLORY HOLES! I don't even know what putt from the rough means in a sex context and I'm not looking it up.
Poor Ben, still being cyberbullied with raccoon pics. Oh well!
So, the beepy computer voice guy. Celestia? HFB3 leading Ben into a trap? Some army dude? (He says son, thats my whole justification) REAGAN?!?!
Love that Mary calls Granny Frickards "that bates motel of a restaurant". And I love the image of Mary kicking Greg's ass up and down the street while Granny watches. Does the fact that she'd watch and not intervene mean she also doesn't like Greg, or just that she's old and fragile?
I love the owl hoot cues for the King Falls forever guy (he prefers Freddie osborne) Before he even starts speaking, you know it's him from the hoot owls. Anyone else think he's doing a Jack Nicholson in Wolf reference?
Why is Sammy suddenly doubting the existence of werewolves after the Princess had a half human half pomchi baby?
Zombies are back, which hopefully means Dr Rosenblum is back. And ELVIS REFERENCE! you can't tell me the kfam writers weren't eerie fans.
ESCOBAR! ITS NOT HARD!
So looks like they're cueing up the wheezy mudmonster guy from perdition woods, the shadow people and Debbie for a return in the near future, which means I'll be sleeping with the hall light on on the one hand but NO GREG on the other. Fine with that.
Okay, so a couple of Emily-related things are bugging me about this installment that I'm not sure I'm going to do a great job of putting into words, but...
Okay, first, we finally get to the place where other people are pointing out that there's more people who know for a fact that it was Ben and not Greg who saved Emily. People who were were there and who also helped. There's probably evidence out there somewhere along with the multiple eyewitnesses. It's been established that Emily is a librarian who does research. If she's not actively researching this to draw her own conclusions, either this isn't the real Emily or something else is very wrong with her.
Why does nobody point that out?
Second, now that we've heard from two people who've voiced their concerns about this, the things they seem to be most upset about are: a) Greg is a creepy liar b) Greg being a creepy liar is not only denying Ben his credit, it's denying other people, too c) Ben and Emily belong together
And okay, but...where is the concern for Emily herself? As her own person. As a person aside from Ben, and one who is now in a romantic relationship with somebody based on lies and coercion? I mean, okay, Troy and Mary are closer to Ben and they might well be concerned about Emily, too--although Mary seemed more irritated with her for hurting him--but it doesn't really come out on the show in this episode, and that kind of bothered me.
Also, I want to know what the deal is with Emily's mother at this point. Is she okay with this?
Is anybody in Emily's corner right now?
I mean, I can't fault Ben his self-preservation instincts here, but does she have other friends?
And finally, the phrasing on "those aren't her arms...those are Frickard's"? Creepy. Creepy af.
